This article presents the result of the research, with the same title, held by the Research Group Discursus – Practical Theology and Language (School of Theology/Methodist University of São Paulo, 2005-2006). The case study was based in the following questions: (1) why does the pastor founder of the International Church of the Grace of God R. R. Soares have the acceptance of the Protestant audience? (2) why does his visibility beat the visibility of other pastors of the media? The answers to these questions are socialized in this article.
