ore and they won't know Becoming Limitless how to respond, but hopefully they will move them to think and analyze the situation instead of putting them on the defensive. One other key question is, "What do you think is preventing you from....?" You will probably get some excuses, but you will always get insight into that individual that will help formulate your next steps.
Are there real barriers that need to be overcome? Did they think they were doing the right thing? Were they missing key information? Do they buy into the goal or expectation? If you don't know the answers to these questions, how can you help move anyone to improved performance and behavior? By and large, people are not incompetent in what they do. They don't wake up in the morning and say "How can I screw up today?"
If we really want to do a better job at raising or teaching our children, developing our employees, strengthening our relationships or improving the performance of our organizations, we have to start asking better questions in order to gain a better understanding of the situations and people we come in contact with. Remember the words of Stephen Covey, "Seek first to understand, then to be understood."
How do you know when to let go, in business or personal situations in life. This is a very difficult question, but one that is vital to living a life that continuously moves forward. After all this planet is moving through space at 1,350,000 miles an hour, so we may as well keep moving also, it is just logical. Besides that, everything is always moving either forward or back. If something stands still it will have its appropriate equivalent to a stagnant pond, smelling and slimy, with no vibrant life at all.
