Bikini hair is common in all women. Hydralyft But sometimes it can become overgrown and "peek" on the sides of a bikini, underwear or shorts. This is considered "uncool" especially in today's standards. While there are women who do not mind revealing a curl or two on the side of their bikini, the majority prefer to shave this excess hair. There is even a movement to completely eradicate this bikini hair as we shall see.
For most, regular shaving does the job. Unfortunately, just like in men when they shave their stubbles, women also experience razor bumps due to ingrown hair. Ingrown hair is where a blade of hair that was not completely shaved off begins to regrow and in the process it curls and re-enters the skin causing inflammation. This is also common with women after they shave their bikini region. Let us look at a few methods of controlling this.
Many women shave their bikini area. This is mostly to stay in tune with current trends and also for hygienic purposes. In hot climates, one wants to avoid retaining sweat. That is why many opt to stay with little or no bikini hair. The universally appropriate time for many women is when they are taking a shower. This is recommended because warm water softens the skin and makes it easier to shave.
Another good habit to form is to use new razors every time you shave. Research shows that many women reuse the same razor up to six times. This is a major cause of bikini razor bumps. It is easier for razor bumps to flare up when using an old razor because the blade has become dull and it is likely to leave a sharp jagged stub of hair when then punctures the skin.
