Fat Decimator System Review
por Emily Jacob (25-02-2019)
A significant change includes the Fat Decimator System separation of the fruits and vegetables, with the sum of their portions taking up half of the entire plate. Increased consumption is justified as both are rich sources of vitamins, minerals and fiber, and some appear to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and certain cancers. Where carbohydrates previously comprised the majority of our food intake, this general term now has no part in the new food plate. Instead, one quarter of the plate is occupied by grains, a usually healthier type of carbohydrate, that are sources of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, in addition to energy. This change was done to promote a shift from unhealthy types of carbohydrates such as the simple sugars. The USDA recommends that at least half the grains consumed must be whole. However, this has been perceived as permission to eat refined grains, which have already been stripped of fiber, iron, and many B vitamins. Consumption of enriched refined grains has become a viable alternative. The remaining quarter of our plates should be apportioned to protein sources, which include meat and poultry, seafood, eggs, soy and soy products, beans, legumes, and nuts. Dietary guidelines recommend increasing intake of seafood in lieu of meat and poultry.
